We have a very small castle here on Vancouver Island – Craigdarroch Castle – not at all as imposing as the ones in your country. Unfortunately I was unable to answer any of questions I would love to visit one or two castles though.

Hands up to knowing all but one; but I’m not telling! Thanks for the fun, Cherie. Old family friends in Ireland actually live in a castle (or what’s left of it, mostly rebuilt after destroyed by fire during the ‘Troubles’), and frankly I wouldn’t wish such a residence on my worst enemy !

Interesting post. Don’t know any of those castles, of course. We have none in Canada. Yet, I’m fascinated by castles and have many books depicting them. Mostly on the outside of course. Long ago, when I told my young son that my dream was to live in a Castle for a year, he went to bookstores and found a marvellous 16×10 book called: “Cross-Sections Castle (See inside an amazing 14th Century Castle).” Then I was able to picture what life had been everyday, in every room of the Castle, for different people. I still enjoy holding the book, and living in MY castle.

I’ve always wanted to sleep in a castle, preferrably in Scotland.
I must do that.
They would be great places to hold murder mystery dinners.

Fun and interesting. I was quite impressed by the architecture of a few that I visited when over your way. (…to think of building a castle in those times, not to mention living in one…)

Yes I can’t believe I have been to Dover castle twice and I haven’t got a photograph of it.
