All the rooms around the courtyard are wheelchair friendly although the one we stayed in isn’t. The lounge and the dining area are also suitable for wheelchairs. You will have to let me know if you do decide to go

That looks a lovely place to stay Cherie, I’m definitely putting it on my hit list fo one of our British holidays. The garden room looks suitable for me as it’s ground floor, so obviously no stairs to deal with….This is something I can’t manage anymore.
My husband has always had a hankering to go to Northumberland, but I’ve been reluctant, after having had a miserable holiday there, many moons ago!
After reading your article you have changed my mind.
I remember visiting Berwick on Tweed, that was rather lovely, sadly I can’t remember much else about the place…

The top left pic in my mosaic is the main house of the property where I stayed. The old stables around the courtyard have been converted into more guest bedrooms and the residents lounge.

It is such a wonderful place to stay, I can’t wait to go back again.

I stayed in Berwick when I was a youngster and visited the barracks and town walls in 2007, this visit I just had a quick look around the main town.

I visited lots of places on my recent visit but still was left wanting to do more.

The Caernarfon coach house is just a couple of doors down from me. It just looks like a small house now though. No stables.

Mmm, Cherie, definitely approve the changes in decor! Looks gorgeous, as is the surrounding countryside. Have always wanted to visit Berwick; but only managed to pass through on train. Did you get that far, or were the delights of your immediate area enough? Glad you had a great time, anyway.
