Perhaps the ghost was walking besides me… It was difficult to pick up on that sort of atmosphere because I was with someone who was talking rather a lot.

The picture of the berries which is at the top of my left sidebar at the moment was taken very close to the spot.

Cherie, that dog growled because it picked up something strange – not you, I hasten to add! – but a presence of some kind. There was probably an angry ghost sitting beside you, envying you your picnic among other things … !
I’ve seen dogs go to an unoccupied corner of a room in an old building (cat-free) and growl, even bark, as if there were something/one there (when there isn’t).

It did have a certain atmosphere about it but I wasn’t spooked. There was a strange incident with a dog though. A black Labrador was coming towards me (with it’s owners). It passed the person in front of my quite calmly but it growled when it walked past me. This is very unusual because dogs are often drawn to me…

Definitely enjoyed this, Cherie – thanks. The weather adds to the overall atmosphere. Look forward to the follow-up pix. Were you spooked at all by the site? I ask because battlefields always have that effect on me, + I’ve seen horses being scared by certain places which later turn out to have an embattled history.

I had just bought my sandwiches when, quite normally when I am intending a picnic, it started to rain.

There is this thing which happens like that – it’s almost as if one induces the rain or the cars.
