She was quite large enough and I moved to one side so I wasn't in the way of where she was trying to go. You were lucky to see that. That, from here, looks very much like a female Stag Beetle. I get them some years in the garden - and if I'm lucky I may get the male beetle with those beautiful 'stags horns'. :) The poor female lacks those magnificent horns. :( The males are twice the size of the lady beetle and when these menfolk take to the air in search of a lovely lady, it is a sight never to be forgotten. :o Of course I never have my camera to hand. :( Gosh!
