I was a little bit surprised by my weigh in this week, a gain of 3lb. I only had one bad day which was Mother’s day, the food options were out of my hands. But even the few extra treats during that meal can’t account for such a gain. I thought I would have stayed the same as last week or perhaps gained 0.5lb…

My clothes don’t feel any tighter than last week and visually I can’t see any gain. But perhaps I shouldn’t go into so much detail ;-)

Thanks Angus :-) I didn’t pig out on Sunday apart from one wafer thin mint ;-)

Well actually it was a big fat mint and I enjoyed it was delicious ;-)

i always think there is no logic to a womans weight loss/ gain :-(

My large weight gain the other week disappeared this week. The teacher said she wondered if it were water retention. Could that be your problem too? I have no idea how you tell!

I weigh myself each day and find the result can go up or down by as much as 4lbs from one day to the next, but is consistent each day on repeated weighings, so not due to fickle scales. Whether due to water retention, GI tract content, or variations in the Earth’s gravitational field or the pull of Dark Matter, Jupiter and the moon… I have no idea, but it happens. If one mint puts on 3lbs we will need to revise the laws of thermodynamics! :) Perhaps there are mischevous ghosts pushing us down one day and up the next? Whatever, it’s the trend of the average that matters.

Dark matter, Jupiter and the moon – now that is something I hadn’t thought about before…

I think I might blame it on the moon ;-)

Seriously, the ups and downs seem to have no rhyme nor reason but as you say it is the general trend that is important :-)

This week I have been really good but I feel as if I have gained. Lets see what the scales tell me on Thursday!
