There is so much to see and so many great photo opportunities. The roads are very quiet and it is very relaxing :-) Hereford Cathedral is very interesting, as well as the chained book library it also has the Mappa Mundi. I was going to revisit it a couple of months ago but those exhibits were closed due to refurbishment. It should have re-opened by now... It feels like I am meant to be there... The castle at Alnwick is impressive but so is Bamborough and some of the ruined castles look dramatic set against the coast. Then there is the scenery and the quiet open roads. I just love the area :-) For some reason this particular place feels like home to me (or rather home from home).

My brother and his wife have a favourite hotel and specific room overlooking the sea in Fife, to which they return regularly, whereas I actually find something disturbing about staying in the same hotel room twice (other than on the same visit, I mean). I don't like retracing my steps (well... not in that way, but will joyfully go back to favourite golf courses again and again). Sorry, I'm rambling. Northumberland is nice.
