I bet they were! Just after my Dad died, there were lots of strange electrical occurrences in both my house and my Mum’s house.

I am with Mickie on this one. When I used to loose my temper with my son as a teenager, the lights in our house used to flicker on and off. His friends were in awe!

Ahh Don, I am very sceptical about ‘ghosts’ and accounts of them also. Some of the ghost accounts I believe to be real but the explanation of them is best understood by thinking science and nature.

The dictionary wasn’t next to the edge of the desk and it was wide and sturdy enough not to fall over. However if it did fall over the motion would have meant it ended up on the floor. I could have accepted it falling over the first time, someone might have picked it up and placed it unstably but I placed it back so that it was stable. Even then I may have dismissed it, but the no dial tone as the book fell made me ponder…

Co-incidence? Maybe… But from a scientific point of view there is no such thing as a co-incidence…

I am quite a rational person and dismiss most of the ghostly and other related claims. I do not believe in ghosts, but I do believe there are unexplained things. On analysis, some of those things do not fit what with what we scientifically know/believe and that gives me pause for thought and further discussion with friends

They do indeed need to be revered and this one is a might tomb. At home it is replaced with a more modern version but the words of this original one are still valued. And what better place than the office to value such things.

Ah yes… I think the placing of the dictionary in that way will spread the disease elsewhere But the placing of the dictionary in that way will stop my colleague jumping, which is what happened when the book landed next to her desk with a big BANG!!

A dictionary that is “stood up” falls over twice…

Not very spooky. Try laying it down well away from the edge of the table, and if it manages to jump to the floor let me know and I will come charging on my steed to impale your ghost. I am used to fighting foes that are not really there.

Gravity and vibration do much of the work that many so readily attribute to ghosts.
