The cooker has only partially worked for the last two years and needed replacing. As it was built into the units this meant that that part of the kitchen needed a bit of rework too. The extractor fan had also ceased to function and also needed replacing. The fridge and the freezer had become less than efficient too and needed replacing, they were also built in which meant a bit of a rework in that area too. There comes a time when you have to admit defeat and it made more sense to replace all the units along with the faulty items. All the appliances in the new kitchen will be free standing and won't affect the kitchen if they need replacing. You will note in the final photos that all the working appliances, including the sink have been reused in the new kitchen. I am hoping it lasts at least as long as the first one (20 years plus, although I haven't lived here that long ;-) ) I am actually very frugal and not one for spending lots of money ;-)
