I too love walking on autumn leaves and scrunching and kicking my way through them.

I love Autumn, I love to walk the street and be with my feet in the layers of fallen leaves, I always have to kick piles of leaves. I used to do that as a kid too.

I would love to see the name cards with the pressed flowers. When we lived in the Arctic, on Baffin Island, I collected the beautiful flowers I saw on the hills, during the 24-hour-sun season: arctic poppy, buttercup, aven, cotton, rhododendron, rampant willow…to prove that, although there were no trees, it wasn’t a barren land. It’s still all dried up in a scrapbook since 1965.

I still have my scrapbooks of pressed leaves from when I was exploring the woodlands with my Dad. They also helped me with one of my Brownie badges

When I got married to Mr C, between my Mum, Dad and I we made all the invitations, order of services, the wedding cake and its decoration (my Mum takes sole credit for that one). The name cards on the table had individual pressed flowers on each one, no two were the same.

Perhaps I should get them out and photograph them for my blog…

Leaves are so beautiful when they fall to the ground. I remember, in my youth, collecting the most perfect maple leaves, drying them between books, and sending some to my European penpals with my Christmas cards. I probably thought that maple trees only grew in Canada.:-)
