Poppies


They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:

    I remember that poem from childhood, Cherie – I learnt it off by heart in my junior school in Northern Ireland, and have never forgotten these lovely words

      It must have been a very powerful and poignant poem to learn as a child in Northern Ireland.

      They are lovely words and those words always make me think.

  4. Yes, we remember them, but still the slaughter carries on… as I express on my place with a November 12th post rather than November 11th, as it seems more appropriate to me

      The remembering shows us the atrocities of the past but it should be a lesson to not repeat the mistakes of the past.

      But those in power have different ideas and the little people don’t speak out…
