Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, but he was not born on December the 25th. The scriptures and related texts indicate the birth as being in the summer months. July I think... The Winter Solstice and Christmas (the dates) are just another day in the calendar. But the Solstice is tangible and always occurs around that date ;-) So many date markers, they mean different things to different people.
