I don't think it is big brother stuff, more historic stuff that has been kept in place from times gone by. You can get permission to take cameras in for special occasions and I probably could permission if I said I wanted to take photos of the trees, birds and wildlife that surrounds the buildings. But then I would probably be questioned on what I wanted to do with the photos after I had taken them ;-)

But you have given me an idea which I might pursue...

Mobile phones are allowed but using the picture taking capability is strictly forbidden. With regards to the MoD in general, if mobile phones really are a problem in certain areas they would not be allowed. I would think that would be the same for Defence Contractors for the same reason and also to protect their intellectual property rights.

I would love to see some pictures of your Oak tree Bernard :-)

I love the way the light plays around that tree :-) What really surprises me about the second photo is that it was only 15-20 minutes before it went dark. I don't remember the sky being quite so blue... but the tree did look just like it appears in the photo :-)

And thank you :-)

I didn't know they used those tricks in cinematopraphy!

I was wondering about mobile phones too, as all have inbuilt cameras these days. My daughter is currently working for a major defence systems contractor with big electric and barbed wire fence round the site all that but there is no ban on her mobile phone.
