Toronto seems to have given up on snow for this winter. Growing up in Montreal, we just took it for granted that abundant snow was part of winter. Not only were we prepared, but children (and adults) had so much fun with it: building forts, having snow balls fights, skiing, sled sliding, skating on backyard homemade ice rinks. We dressed warmly, shoveled snow away from stairs and paths, arranged group transportation and even traveled on foot if necessary. I can't remember once the city being paralysed by a snowfall.

A few years ago, Toronto had an unusual huge snowstorm. People were so helpless. The Mayor even called the Army to help get rid of the snow. Montreal laughed so much. My family even sent shovels to Toronto with lessons on how to use them! :-)
