I think you would love Salisbury Cathedral :-)

I am not sure what you mean about the WordPress reader, I haven't seen that. So perhaps I am missing something?

All Wordpress comments on my Wordpress blog take me to a Gravatar profile that lists their blogs...

If you can explain a bit more perhaps we can work it out.

I quite enjoy sorting out my photos although I put a lot of pressure on myself to get them done immediately which of course causes a problem with time ;-)

That sounds like a really jam packed itinerary, seeing a lot but not really seeing ;-)

As you (and I) have found out spending more time somewhere leads to unexpected (less advertised) interesting gems :-)

Beautiful picture. The cathedral looks like it is well worth a visit. I was looking for a place to follow you in the WordPress reader but couldn't get it sorted. Am I missing something? Thanks Cherie

Look forward to seeing your photos. Sorting out photos is a chore. I had a recent trip away in mMay and came back with too many photos 1500 + (should have deleted some and loaded them every night.) Had a technical problem as a result that needed a pro computer expert to advise me.
It may surprise you but back in my railcard days, I once did a three hour trip (early afternoon) to Salisbury that included a charter rail trip to London the same day ... the most miles on land that I've ever covered in one day. It was a fun achievement but maturity tells me now that it's about spending quality time somewhere.

I didn't find the graveyard, but I do like to visit graveyards and explore the stones...

Our early ancestors are much clever than we give the credit for. Perhaps even more clever than we are today ;-)

Thank God you took pics inside. I loved the cathedral but was unable to go inside as there was work being done and it was closed to the public. I did enjoy the graveyard though. Did you linger there at all? :)

It is just so amazing that people from that far back[and not having proper nutrition etc] could create such beautiful work. And one wonders who they erected it without scaffolding.

I can't recall the time frame now but didn't it take like 100 years to complete?

I hope my photos do the Cathedral justice. I am glad you enjoyed "Sarum". I visited Stonehenge too and am quite pleased with some of the photos.

They ask for donations and suggest £6 but it wasn't obligatory and you could give less if you chose too. The reason I didn't quite visit on my previous occasion there is because Mr C objected to paying to go in. On that occasion it was obligatory.

I have not visited Norwich yet...

That is a lot of photos!! I don't envy you sifting through all of those when you get back :-)

Cathedrals are so photogenic, perhaps you should pay Salisbury a visit. And don't forget Stonehenge, but pick a quiet time of day for that. It is great now they have moved the visitor centre. The old carpark site is still being worked on, but it looks MUCH better than it did before.
