On one of my early visits I was sitting enjoying the view on one of the benches when the owner breezed past me and asked if I was enjoying the garden... My favourite gardens (of those I have visited) in no particular order are; Hodnet Hall Gardens, Powis Castle, Alnwick Castle, Abbey House Garden and Cragside formal garden (in September). Hodnet Hall has been one of my favourite gardens for many years.
