I always find the first night in any town or city a problem for eating out until I get my bearings and a bit of local food knowledge.
I stayed in North Ayrshire during May (a blog series after this New Year) and ate everywhere on the journey back to the hotel except the town I was staying in. It was only on the last night that I sampled a place next to the remote out of town quay that I was pleasantly surprised by the cost and quality of food. I should have realised earlier in the week due to the amount of cars outside. Next time I’ll do some trip advisor work and make a list to work from.

You are able to write a very interesting story about your journey on your way to Oxford Cherie… i enjoyed it very much…
pub food is the best place to find a good meal … but i hope that you didn’t have to pay too much to sleep on Oscar Wilde’s old tube bed… but there was a fine looking mattress on it….peter:)

……due to other drivers tootling along. I love your way with words, I might use this phrase if ever I don’t make it in time at work.
