This cross started life as an unadorned wooden cross which was carried at the head of a procession round the town on Good Friday. It was then placed in front of the church ready for decoration as part of the Easter Sunday service.

There was a large, plain, unadorned wooden cross at the Moot Hall in Keswick this week. All the more poignant for being understated.
