I am sure a naughty cake or two will find its way onto my plate. Although I have been quite good of late. I had the option for a naughty cake for Saturday lunch but I opted for a ham and tomato toastie instead. And very nice it was too :-)

I think you may have provided tooooo much information regarding the after effects of a naughty cake though ;-)

I have one or two glass hearts on my Christmas tree but my favourite tree ornaments are my glass Angels. I saw some lovely ones in Belgium but I didn't think I would be able to get them home in one piece so sadly I left them where they were.

Just looked the article up - it's all correct.
"Naughty cakes are vital not only for our bowel health and function, but far beyond this. To put it simply, part of this roughage is fermentable, and in other words, it becomes a food for our friendly gut bacteria, and the non-fermentable part enhances bowel movement and stool consistency. Whatever the characteristics of dietary fibre such as solubility, viscosity, and fermentability, it is essential for our health, and it should be a crucial component in our diet. "

I was reading recently, that people with a small amount of 'excess baggage', as you put it, actually live longer, happier and contented lives.
This pleased me no end. And I believed it too.
We need more of this common-sense approach to storing a little reserve for a rainy day.
Animals will tend to this approach. It is only us humans, that have 'fast food' virtually 'on tap', any hour of the day, and most of us never have to worry where the next meal will come from.
There is that old saying - 'A bird in the hand, is worth two in the bush', and I like to have that little extra inch around my waist today, in case times get hard tomorrow. ;-)
Cheers B xx
Actually, the article I read told me that people carrying that little bit extra, could survive heart-attacks etc, because they had that reserve back up when required.
I'm convinced. ;-)
