		<description>I think that in amongst foliage I like to see them slightly weathered so they blend in with the surroundings.

Here is  a quite different statue that I saw in the distance. I had to use full zoom to capture the photo. I am undecided whether I like it the way it is or if it should be tidied up and  and as you say made pristine.
