    i like the strong, un-missable reds in the top shot, CP. i have seen them in London and the inside of the glass panels were fully plastered by all kinds of advertisements.

    It’s fun enough to see ONE of these icons, Cherry, but to see 4 in a row, that’s a rare treat. I suppose in their day they must have been important for a busy touristy area like this.

    I so love the red booths and I am so glad they keep them in the street. I once saw books in one of them to be taken.

    I really miss our public phone boxes. I met my then-boyfriend/now-husband in 1969, when he lived in Sydney and I lived in Melbourne. We had no way of speaking together, except by the public phone boxes near our parents’ homes.

    We actually managed to “steal” some of these and placed them in Malaysia!
