Apley Woods

Due to my walking challenge, I have been so focused on walking that I have not got around to gathering my thoughts to post about the places that I visited in York. They will be coming soon, but for now I am sharing some photographs from another walk, this time in Apley Woods.

After a little persuasion Mr C joined me for  a short Sunday afternoon stroll in the sunshine.

Later in the day we enjoyed fine dining on the patio.

Forget the intense walking! Fine dining on the patio, good white wine, gorgeous sunshine, wildflowers and bushes everywhere… what a fine life.

  2. Oh I love seeing all these wonderful spots I only hear about….looking forward to more of your walking.

And what a fine challenge….my walking challenge has been curbed of late due to a heel spur. But I had been walking a half hour after each meal for 15-30 minutes and lost 40 lbs last yr in just about 5 months, and lowered my blood sugar by 40 points. My doctor/acupuncturist says walking a half hour after meals is the best time and I guess research has proven that right as well as my success.

    Good luck!

I am sorry to hear that you have a problem with your heel, I hope it gets better soon. Well done with your weight loss and health improvement :-)

My aim for the period of the challenge is at least 10000 steps a day. I have managed it so far and have a few steps banked for when I know I will be travelling and not be able to meet mey step count.

I am enjoying the challenge, although some days I have to force myself to go out ;-)

  3. Looks delightful, CP – especially the fine dining at the end; I think the thought of that would keep me going!

Good for you, Cherry. You know it is good for you and knowing that you are at home all day…. walking and exercises are great to keep you fit. A fit body is the start of everything (NO guaranty that one won’t drop dead tomorrow though)
