  1. Great shot of the bridge.
    Coffee is on

  2. The gardens there are just gorgeous – a lovely set of photos.

  3. Oh, yes; Mrs Britain would love this. And I daresay I’d find it rather nice too :-) Lovely shots, CP.

  4. Hels says:

It must take huge teams of garden designers and workers to maintain such fabulous gardens. Out of the reach of most families and facilities, but worth every penny.

    And the bridge is lovely.

  5. Such beautiful gardens :)

  6. That bridge looks like a folly?!

It is not a folly and it is listed:

Narrow footbridge. C17. Gritstone and limestone rubble. Two segmental arches of
gritstone rubble voussoirs. Triangular sectioned cutwaters between arches to
either side. Above, low rubble parapets with rubble copings. Walls thicken to
either end. The bridge derives its name from the legend that Dorothy Vernon
escaped over this bridge to elope with her lover during the festivities of her
      sister’s wedding.

  7. So beautiful and they remind me of one we visited in the south somewhere.
