  1. Coloured leaves in autumn :) Australia’s own trees are all evergreen and I never bought any deciduous plants for our house. But the red is gorgeous.

  2. Looks like you’re having a lovely time in a few places that I know – but I have never explored Jesmond Dene. Wasn’t that Armstrong’s place before he bought Cragside? Most of my time in Newcastle has been spent working, but there’s loads to see and do. And I can recommend the cafe/bakery in Kirkby Lonsdale with the big range in the back (for your return trip, perhaps!)

It always makes me smile that we enjoy the same places and that you introduce me to new places that I have not visited that are just ‘my type of place’.

I fell in love with Newcastle when I stayed there for business many years ago. I walked back to the hotel through the city after an evening meal (others were talking business) but one of my northern colleagues pointed out all the historical points of interest to me.

Yes, Jesmond Dene House was the home of Armstrong before he bought Cragside, he gifted the Dene to the people.

I think the bakery you mention In Kirkby Lonsdale is the one teashop that Mr C had been intending to visit ;-)

We are planning our next trip to Northumberland, taking in Newcastle along the way. I will educate Mr C in choosing the perfect cafe in Kirkby Lonsdale ;-)

      Thank you :-)

  3. Mr C’s autumn cameo?!
He, you and the autumn leaves, all competing for the camera shots. ;)
