WWT Arundel is one of nine wildfowl and wetland nature reserves managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, a nature conservation charity in the United Kingdom. The 60 acre (240,000 m2) reserve is situated at the foot of the Offham Hangar, a part of the Arun valley in Arundel, West Sussex, England.
One of the endangered species protected at the centre is the Hawaiian goose, or nēnē, the rarest goose in the world, and state bird of Hawaii. Many species of duck, goose and swan can be seen at the reserve.
The centre provides a variety of habitats from around the world for its various ‘residents’ such as its re-creation of Mývatn, a volcanic lake in Iceland.
With hand feeding and hides situated all over the centre, visitors can get close to many of the ducks. These features, as well as the large number of habitats and different species, are common in WWT centres.

Arundel Wetland Centre

I didn’t know there were so many Wetlands Centres in the UK
It’s a wet place…
It is surprising
I’ve been looking back through your January posts with wonderful photos along the south coast – lovely part of the world. I used to cycle to Chichester as a kid, but of course wasn’t interested in the things that interest me now (though I did visit the cathedral more than once). As for the Arundel Wetland Centre, I had no idea it even existed – I’ll keep an eye open for it when we’re next down that way.
The wetland centre is well worth a visit. Make sure you spare enough time, we only had a fleeting visit so we missed out on some things.
Great photos of the birds – I especially like the last one!
Sussex is a county I have never ever visited
I know you would love the wetlands centre
Those swans are beautiful, never saw the B&W… it think this was very special to see all the “floating animals” (also running around…)
The swans are black necked swans. I love the last picture, they were running straight towards us before turning off along another pathway. They were intent on getting somewhere in a hurry.
I didn’t know there was one in Arundel.
Visited WWT London with my old Tesco vouchers last year.
There are a few around the country
oh i loved watching these swimming beauties in the water
what a nice place to see some interesting species of birds from close
It was a delight for me too. It was a shame we had such a short time and had to rush our visit.
