Bruges? I miss their chocolate already.
Perhaps, May would bring us back some bitter chocolate from Brussels tonight.

The square reminded me of places I have visited in Belgium, although the buildings are not quite so grand.

LOL Other than this incident I can only remember two occasions of a fire alarm going off when I have been on my travels.

The more recent incident was in the Tate Modern a few years ago. We were in the process of getting a cup of tea in the cafe when the fire alarm went off. The staff were a bit unsure what to do. Suddenly they sprung into action and directed everyone outside to the front of the gallery building. The wind had blown one of the doors open, but everyone (quite rightly) had to wait until the fire brigade turned up to give the all clear. We waited a while and then decided that the Tate could wait until another day ;-)

The incident before that was in my school days when I visited Arthog (a bit like a Youth Hostel) as a school trip. For me the purpose was to study marine biology. I was given boots and waterproofs, the smallest size boots gave me blisters on the first day. We all had problems walking in the sand trying to monitor what lifeforms were within the sand. The sand was too wet, the teacher had to improvise ;-) Sooo

Getting back to the fire alarm! In the middle of the night the the Fire Alarm went off. We all dutifully lined up outside our room. I was feeling most uncomfortable standing in public in my nightclothes. We were informed that it was a false alarm, the wind had blown open one of the doors...

Do you see a common theme with me and fire alarms ;-)
