I am a bit of a night owl so the only chance of me seeing a sunrise is over the autumn to winter months. I do love them when I see them :-)

I read somewhere once that fear of spiders was a deep routed thing from our ancestors. A protective measure from poisonous spiders. I am not sure if this is true but perhaps that is why we see some things as unpleasant.

But will it keep being "beautiful", with beauty being in the eye of the beholder? And why do we find it beautiful rather than horrifying or frightening? I wonder. I suspect natural selection has selected what we find beautiful in a way that preferentially fosters the survival and reproduction of those of us happily in appreciation of the natural world; and that creatures on other worlds, of which I suspect there are multitudes, may find beauty in rather different things. That is a beautiful photograph though, to me. Everything is beautiful, in some way though, even what we call ugly. I like contradictions.
