I have most likely spent more time at home rather than exploring abroad. That being said I always love my wider adventures abroad but not always the journey to get there. Exploring new places is a delight, especially if you do the reading before hand so you know what to focus on and you know what questions to ask. I intended to explore most countries in the world when I was young, and spent a good 6 weeks a year travelling (during the Australian winter holidays) for decades. Over the last 5.5 years the exploration stopped because of financial problems due to retirement from work, surgery, pandemic etc etc. Now I will be exploring my own country in much more detail :) I agree.
