I was keen to go inside this time as they have made the different floors more accessible by fitting out stairs and floors inside the keep. Previously you had to climb the original castle stairs and walk around the tower with low walls to the side which was a little bit uncomfortable if you are not OK with heights The work they have done opens up the keep to be viewed more completely and the views of York off the top are stunning. Many that still have walls and other structures in context to give them context. Many have gruesome tales to tell.
