The Shropshire town of Wellington is thought to be derived from a Saxon settler, Weola whose farmstead would have been located in the centre of the town, possibly near the church green.

Oh I visited the other "Wellington" in New Zealand, just last month!
I am not too sure, but I think it was named after the Duke of Wellington?

But I am sure this Wellington in Shropshire existed before the duke was born?

A peace garden is always a great idea. The beauty of the plants comes from both human hard labour and nature's gift. So no damage should ever be done by humans.
