Are you meaning barefoot walking? If so I was criticising the leader of 'that' walk during my walking holiday. His choice led to my uncomfortable walking experience that also led to a prolonged injury to my ankle. Thankfully the thinking that when walking in hilly areas you have to boots that are above the ankle has moved on, it is more about the grip on the soles of the boot/shoe.
