My final post showing the journey of my weekend in York brings us nicely to the festive season.

The National Trust shop was stocked up with it’s Christmas goods. I made one small purchase… Keep Calm at Christmas

People act really weird at Christmas time! What other time of year do you sit in front of a dead tree in the living room and eat nuts and sweets out of your socks?

The Processional Cross

This processional cross is carried at every principal service that takes place at York Minster, it was given to the Minster in 1912. The design is based on an Abyssinian cross that was given to Westminster in 1902.

All Saints Chapel

The scene behind the alter depicts the crowns of all the saints ascending to heaven. It was made by the Broderers’ Guild in 1974 when the chapel was refurbished.
