I am onto a bit of a roll with my 100 hundred reasons to be glad. I am keen to get the project finished so I can start on the one I had planned for 2011. So please bear with me if you can

I do have a few book reviews planned, I may squeeze one in this week or maybe you will have to wait until next week. My weekend is going to be busy again due to a family birthday

A Busy Week

Or to be more precise a hassley week. The office move went ahead quite smoothly and the building is under it’s finally stages of completion. To co-inside with the move we also changed to a new way of working, but not everyone is fully on board with that yet which is causing me some problems.

My Mum took a tumble and bumped her head whilst stepping out of the way of a postman on his cycle. At least the postman stopped and looked after her and called the paramedics out. She seems OK now though

To top it all off, on the way into work one morning I had to pick up a parcel from town. It proved extremely difficult especially when I tried to park. I realised the car park was full and was going to give up and try on another day. As I was trying to reverse out someone parked up behind me leaving me no way to get out!!! I thought they must be trying to get out of the car park before me so I moved out of their way so they could. There was no other reason that I could see for why they didn’t reverse up a bit to let me out. The car then followed me round and completely blocked me in…

It seems the person was so desperate for the next available space when it became available that they were oblivious of me trying to get out of the car park and their way. Some people!!!

The parcel contained some free photo and video editing software and a voucher for a photographic course (courtesy of Panasonic), so at least the hassle was worth it.

I shall now share a little beam of light with you

PS: I forgot to mention I was awoken by the phone ringing at 7am this morning. It was my day for a lie in so I was NOT impressed.

Third Floor View

Today it was quite warm in comparison today yesterday, it was only -4.5. It is still pretty chilly inside the office on the ground floor because throughout the cold snap the back door has been continually open. This is due to a big clear out of the building prior to the move early next year. So this is probably my last chance to show you the views from the third floor.

Winter Wonderland

When I got up this morning the fog from yesterday had lifted but there was a heavy frost on the car. It took me quite a while to scrape the car windows and the temperature was -10. Before I left I grabbed my camera because I knew that despite the fact that I currently work on an industrial estate, it can be quite spectacular when it is snowy or frosty and I suspected that there would be a thick frost when I got there.

I wasn’t wrong so at lunch time with camera in hand I went for a walk to see what I could find. Earlier in the morning someone had asked if I had got my camera with me, it seems they had kept the card I had made for Christmas last year and saw the opportunity for more. I hope I don’t disappoint…

I have some views taken through the office window from the third floor but I think I shall post ‘out and about in the frost’ first.

Home for Christmas

Today was my last day at work before Christmas, I finished at lunch time so I could get my hair cut and permed. A strange eerie fog was surrounding the building just like when we had our 24 hour candlelit vigil and the temperature was just as cold as it was on that day too. This gave me the idea of taking some nice photos of the frost on the way to the hairdressers.

I had hoped to get a photo of the lake frozen over with the seabirds huddling together in the middle. I parked my car as close as possible but after setting out on the short walk I decided that I was risking life and limb as the paths were a lot more slippy than I thought. As I was alone apart from my friend the Robin (who declined to have his photo taken) I decided not to risk it by walking too far down the path which left the lake tantalisingly just around the corner out of sight.

I did however manage to get a few shots of the frosty paths and surrounding trees. After taking the photos I navigated my car back carefully along the frosty road and back onto more civilised territory, where my car lost all traction with the road and refused to pull forward for a few moments.
