Today was dull overcast day but I couldn’t resist going back to Leegomery Pools to look for the goslings I mentioned in my previous post.

Giving the Parents a Run Around

The dull overcast day meant that the pathways were quiet. I saw few people and was able to linger and enjoy the cute goslings who were leading their parents around the pool.

Fluff Balls in the Grass

As I was photographing the goslings, Mr Heron flew overhead and settled at the opposite end of the pool before flying overhead again and choosing a different perch. By the time I resumed my walk he had hidden himself from view. Near to where I saw him in close proximity a few days ago a Greylag Goose was standing on one leg!

Today, I walked to Leegomery Pools via a post box and noticed some cute social distancing markers along the way.

Rather than seeking food, the Heron I saw fishing a few days ago was surveying his domain from the middle of the pool.

Nearby I heard a commotion and spotted newly born goslings. A couple of seagulls were swooping in but the adult geese shooed them away.

The early morning dull weather fitted my grey mood. I was mulling over some negative comments (about me) from others that do not know me.

The weather perked up after lunch with a sudden heavy downpour illuminated by the sun through the clouds. When this happens the world suddenly becomes vivid and I enjoyed seeing how the light illuminated my garden.

After the rain had passed by the sun put its hat on leading me to seize my opportunity to go for a brief walk. As I left my house I wasn’t sure which direction I would take when I came to the crossroads where a decision had to me made.

My spur of the moment choice of pathway led to me seeing the Heron that had been missing from my most recent (before lock-down) walks. I was delighted to have the rare privilege to get quite close to him :-)
