I approached one of my local routes from a different direction. The first thing that captured my attention was a sign for one of the trees on the ‘Dothill 50 Tree Trail’. The sign had the words ‘25 is no more’. Tree 25 was a Norway Spruce which is used as Christmas tree in many homes.

I continued along my normal route and noticed graffiti messages of love on the pathway. I walked along this route for a short way before taking a detour to a pathway that for some time has been tempting me to explore it. I wasn’t disappointed with my new explorations.

I retraced my steps and made my way home via a familiar pathway. I found more graffiti on the ground and realised the graffiti images I saw were part of a political message sprayed onto the pathway. I need to walk the pathway again in a photojournalistic way to capture the images before they are erased…

Later in the day after my walk there was ‘Fine Dining’

The fine weather gave us opportunity to have a lunch date on our patio with my mother and father in law. It being Good Friday we had toasted hot cross bun accompanied with a glass or rose Prosecco.

Mr C and I then went for an afternoon walk in Telford Town Park. I was wonderful to see families out enjoying themselves in the afternoon sunshine (appropriately distanced). We soon got away from the busy area of the park onto quieter pathways, some of which I had not walked before.

Later after ‘Fine Dining’ (Seabass with salsa and asparagus) we visited my mum and attempted the ‘Pub night’ quiz from the local newspaper. We didn’t do to well. Maybe next time…

Instead of stepping from my doorstep for a walk I chose to drive the short distance to Priorslee for a walk around the lake and maybe the village. Not knowing that the schools in that area have staggered their closing times I found the area busier than I expected.

I enjoyed being able to take my car out for a spin, a different walking location, new views and different photo opportunities. Curiously a missed walking my local pathways. My local pathways have become all about the walk…

Local pathways take me along old and new routes leading to pockets of nature where I can ’sit and rest a while’ along the way.

As I set off for my afternoon walk I wasn’t undecided on which way I would walk. Would my destination be Apley Woods, Leegomery Pools, Dothill Nature Reserve or maybe a route around Wellington. I opted for Leegomery Pools, my choice led to me to find a new pathway linking my previous walks together.

The Pools where surprisingly quiet (as were all the pathways I walked). The lack of fisherman around the pools led to me  enjoying an opportunity to explore new viewpoints of the pools. At one point I was privileged by the presence of a Robin sitting on a branch close to me. He observed me for a while before flying down close to my feet. What a joy that was

The destination of my Friday walk was the Bowring Park in Wellington. I chose not to walk  shortest route so that I could enjoy some other features on my way. My walk took me past Wellington Cemetery.

After my walk around Bowring Park I found a pathway that lead me into the cemetery. The park was busy and noisy but as I stepped into the cemetery grounds I found peace and tranquility. The contrast was quite striking.

On this occasion I enjoyed the peace and tranquility and I know I will be back to walk in that place again soon. I chose the shortest route back home which chimed with the peacefulness of my experience in the cemetery.
