Photoshop Elements randomly creates collages from my photo catalogue. This collage brought back some happy memories.

I loved receiving these reversible skirts hand packed with a personal note making me feel special. When the parcel arrived I always took time to open it slowly and savour the personal touches that were added to my purchase.

I enjoyed wearing this skirt for the first time during a holiday in Norfolk.

The weather was glorious so we visited Hampton Court in Hope Under Dinmore, Herefordshire. We had lunch in the orangery where I chose a Coronation Chicken sandwich before taking a guided tour of the castle. After the castle tour we enjoyed a walk around the gardens which are currently between seasons.  The maze and its hidden surprise were as enjoyable as ever and we were surprised to learn of a hidden feature next to the waterfall in the sunken garden. We enjoyed watching young children find their way behind the waterfall, get as near to the (low) edge as they dared so that they could get a soaking from the waterfall. We were sure that one of them was going to step backwards over the edge, but thankfully he didn’t.

We had hoped to walk along the river which would have enabled me to complete one of my Coronation related walking challenges but unfortunately, we realised that we had forgotten to get an all-important ingredient for our evening meal. This meant that we didn’t have enough time to complete the walk before the shops closed.

This means we will have to go back soon to walk along the river which we have not quite managed on any of our visits. By then the gardens should be starting to bloom again.

Setting up my laptop is still a work in progress but I am slowly getting there. Obtaining photo editing software is top of my list, I will be sticking with Photoshop Elements. Why change from something I have used for many years? I am also looking into a free video editing programme so that I can get back to creating videos and slideshows which I haven’t done for several years.

Another top priority is a USB hub to connect all my desk devices to, making it easier for me to unplug and use my laptop and use it elsewhere without additional devices attached.

We were all packed up and ready to go before we went down for breakfast so all we needed to do after breakfast was settle the bill for the few extras we had added to our room.

On the way home we stopped off at Hexham to see the Abbey as recommended by JD. Hexham Abbey was very interesting and we timed it just right be able to go down the stairs into the ancient crypt. We would have liked a bit more time in the Abbey and in Hexham so we will need to go back to explore more.

It was a bit early for lunch so we continued on our journey, stopping at Tebay Services where I treated myself to of one of my childhood favourites; coconut, cherry and chocolate cake. After lunch we briefly called in on my Aunt, who lives in Manchester, so that Mr C could check that her new porch had been completed to satisfaction. She had been experiencing problems with the company doing the work. I felt a little guilty that the stay was so brief but it wasn’t possibly to stay any longer. With the detour we had spent seven hours in the car leaving us rather tired when we got home for a well earned rest.
