For the weekend I scheduled a busy itinerary so that I wouldn’t be dragged off shopping.  I am not really a fan of shopping but when I do go shopping I prefer to go alone and browse at my own pace.

So where did I visit?  Well I had a day in London visiting Kensington Palace and gardens followed by a visit to the V&A and a brief visit to Foyles.   Yes I know the latter is a shop but bookshops don’t count as shopping   In all, I managed to walk over eight and a half miles, no wonder my feet were aching.  By the time I had done all of that the meal in the Spaghetti House was more than welcome.

The next day I visited Dover and most importantly, the castle to see the tower which has recently had a refit to show castle life as it would have been during the reign of Henry II.  There wasn’t so much walking this time, although there were a lot of hills and stairs to negotiate.  For some strange reason they gave me was in French!

I didn’t quite manage a shopping free weekend.  I was encouraged to visit the Bedouin encampment just before leaving for home.

This bridge is a familiar sight along the journey, the sky looks rather different from last time I took a photograph there.
