The weather was a little chilly and the sky rather overcast leading to a walk that blew away the cobwebs. Along the way a encountered two former colleagues and a Police Officer looking for a homeless person with an aggressive dog setting up a shelter in the woodland area.

I had a brief conversation with the Police Officer and confirmed that I hadn’t seen anything untoward. He bid me goodbye saying, enjoy the rest of your walk.

I continued my walk around Apley Pool where I saw several shelters around the pool that had been erected by fishermen just doing their thing.

I took a window of sunshine during a showery day to walk into my local town. I was curious to see the new trees and shrubs that were being introduced to the town square. I arrived to find that it was a work in progress and was impressed with what I saw. Unfortunately there were too many large vehicles (involved in installing the plants) obscuring the view so I wasn’t able to take a photograph.

I shortened my planned circular route home to avoid a rain cloud that was heading in my direction. My timing was perfect, I stepped inside just as the heavens opened.

The afternoon sunshine was glorious but sadly it wasn’t quite warm enough to dine al fresco.

The Arley Arboretum is tucked away in the beautiful countryside of the Worcestershire and Shropshire borders near Bewdley, it boasts more than 300 species of trees in formal and informal plantings and gardens. The collection includes many rare and spectacular domestic and exotic trees. Nestling in the Severn Valley and overlooking the river, it has been growing and maturing in this idyllic setting for two centuries.

There is a beautiful Italianate Garden within the walled Garden which is planted throughout the year. Planted against the walls are a wonderful collection of camellias.

In the woodland garden you will find many more camellias, masses of daffodils, bluebells and trails.

It seems from my comments thread that I may have been mistaken, so I present to you some alternative cuts…

I have to confess that after the suggested alterations I saw that I had missed some of the different perspectives in my original photo.  Now it has been pointed out to me I can see others too.

You will be pleased to know I have turned off Photoshop for the time being, so I won’t be tempted to add some additional variations

I do wonder which crop appeals the most and if you can see a better crop…
