Isaac JEFFERSON was born in 1834.^{(15) (23)} He resided Main Street on 6 Jun 1841 in Staithes, Yorkshire. ⁽²⁴⁾ He was a Joiner on 10 Jun 1855. ^(7)(23) He resided on 10 Jun 1855 in Whitby.⁽²³⁾ He resided Church Street on 8 Aug 1859 in Whitby. ⁽⁸⁾ He was a Joiner (journeyman) on 8 Aug 1859. ⁽⁸⁾ He resided 76 Church Street on 7 Apr 1861 in Whitby. ⁽²⁵⁾ He died on 9 Apr 1869 in Grosmont, Yorkshire. ⁽²⁶⁾ Cause of death was Phthisis. He was a Joiner on 9 Apr 1869. ⁽²⁶⁾ He was buried on 12 Apr 1869 in Grosmont Parish Church, Grosmont, Yorkshire.⁽²⁷⁾ He lived in Skinners Yard, Whitby when first married. He was married to Margaret BENSLEY on 10 Jun 1855 in St Mary's Church, Whitby. ⁽²³⁾ The marriage certificate states Margaret's name as Buisley.

Witnesses to the marriage were Elizabeth Jefferson and Ralph Bloombury.

5. Margaret BENSLEY was born in 1834 in Ruswarp, Yorkshire.^{(23) (28)} The 1881 census shows her as married to William Watson, but the age differs, it shows her as being born in 1841 Yorkshire. She resided 117 St Ann's Staith on 31 Mar 1851 in Whitby.⁽²⁸⁾ At the time of the 1851 census she was living with her mother who appeared to have married again. Her mothers surname at this teme was Hugill and she was a widow. She was a Servant on 31 Mar 1851.⁽²⁸⁾ She resided on 10 Jun 1855 in Whitby.⁽²³⁾ She resided Church Street on 8 Aug 1859 in Whitby. ⁽⁸⁾ She resided 76 Church Street on 7 Apr 1861 in Whitby. ⁽²⁵⁾ She resided on 4 May 1870 in Grosmont, Yorkshire. ⁽²⁹⁾ She resided 14 Grosmont on 3 Apr 1881 in Eskdaleside, York. ⁽¹⁰⁾ The age on the 1881 census does not agree with her age when she married Isaac, it shows her age as 40 approximate date of birth 1840. Name is not clear on Blanchard's birth certificate could also be Bonsley or Bansley.

Elizabeth Stokoe (Betty) thought that Margaret was related in some way to a family of Houcher's, this may be a marriage or it may just be that they are cousins - see separate tree and letter from Kathleen Dunn dated 12/9/01. Children were:
