Just a day at the Wallace Collection is surely not enough!
You ought to come and visit it again
it was only half a day and no it wasn’t anywhere near long enough.
Ah, the Smug Cavalier.
Very smug
What’s that last one all about? Those two ladies… The look on the chaps’ faces… Do you know what it’s called? Made me laugh, though it may not be meant to. It’s not called “In Your Dreams Mates” by any chance is it?
It is entitled Francesca da Rimini, it is a scene from Dantes Inferno. It was the very ornate frame that caught my attention rather than the painting itself.
I have managed to find a link that explains the scene:

Thanks. On closer inspection I see it is not two ladies but a lady and her chap. Hell eh? Hmm. Anyway, it was the picture that caught my attention and not the frame. I also looked at the Wallace Collection website. Very interesting.
It is a fascinating and varied collection. I will be going back for another visit, there is so much to see.
