As you can see I am now back from my long weekend. I hadn’t planned on another holiday quite so soon after my last one, but after I reviewed Christopher Lloyd’s previous book he commented on my blog and sent me tickets to the launch of his new book. I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss. I shall give you a properly detailed account of the event later this week when I have time to write it up properly.
Then I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to catch up with relatives who have moved down south and make a long weekend of it. We made full use of the time (and good weather) and visited several interesting places; Ightham Mote, Knole, Chartwell (home of Churchill) and Down House (home of Darwin). I am sure you have guessed I took loads of photographs, which I have spent this morning sorting out. I didn’t forget to have a bit of a lie in first though
I would loved to have visited to all those places. I would make sure I had my video with me too. I look forward to seeing those pics.
I didn’t think of taking any videos. I should have done.
Ah … The Weald, Sevenoaks, Knowle Park.
Yes and sadly I didn’t get the chance to explore the park. It started to rain as soon as I cam out of the house. Never mind it is a good excuse to go back
Saw plenty of deer and they are much more tame than anywhere else I have visited.
Lie in? Until when?
An hour less than I would have liked… I was disturbed by a loud phone call!!!
Saw plenty of deer and they are much more tame than anywhere else I have visited..
Yeah. You see, once upon a time I taught them that standing on their hind legs they would get a reward/treat, and since they think all visitors are as kind as this very German gentlemen.
Now I am wondering what kind of treat would have that effect
Look forward to seeing your photos Cherie.
Thank you I will be posting them soon. I still have lots of holiday photos to share as well!
THat was a packed weekend Cherie. I look forward to the photos
It was fun and interesting Photos coming soon, I am not sure which things to blog about first!!!
OOh, great stuff, Cherie! Am looking forward to seeing something of Ightham Mote in particular. I always wanted to visit it during all those years in the south-east, but never made it. Congratulations on having impressed Mr Lloyd, too – means you met or even surpassed extremely high standards (good for both of you!).
It really is a lovely house, the sort that I could live in
