I heard the bells on Christmas Day; their old familiar carols play, and wild and sweet the word repeat of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Merry Christmas! Hope you have a great time!

  2. I used to ring one of the bells at St Mary’s Church, Alverstoke when I lived in Hampshire. Its so quiet in Devon and no church bells are ringing but Longfellow at least got it right.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

I bet that was a wonderful experience, I used to love hearing the Church bells when I lived close to our local Church.

I hope you had a great day DD.

  3. Buon Natale, Cherie. [I couldn't get a comment on before.]

Two colourful, beautiful trees. Peace on earth seems to be elusive, alas! I guess not enough men of good-will. At least, we can work at it among us, spread love to family and friends, and include new people whenever possible. I’m so happy I met you CherryPie.:-)

      Thanks :-)

Sadly peace on earth does seem elusive, but as you say we can do our bit and do our best :-)

I have loved exchanging comments with you on my blog and others and look forward to many more discussions in 2010 :-)

I hope you had a good day today.

    Happy Christmas (belated).

Hope all went beautifully for you, Cherie. And the bells – yes! I loved those. Here in France, you don’t get that characteristic English carillon (French word!); I miss it. Lovely post, as always.
