…into Wales.
I am still a bit rushed off my feet with lots of things that need organising and visiting people etc etc. But despite this I have been keeping my eye on the weather for bank holiday Monday (today).
The weather promised to be cloudy but fine so I set off towards the place I had promised to visit which was Bodnant Garden. The SatNav picked an unusual but much quieter route than I would have thought to travel which was a perfect start to the day. The weather was also a lot more sunny than cloudy and added to the mix of visiting a garden, what more could a girl ask for?
The garden is famous for it’s Laburnum archway which is at it’s best in late May and early June. I managed to dodge the masses of people and get some acceptable (to me) photos of the archway and the flowers. The bluebells were still in bloom and contrasting nicely with pink of the rhododendrons and the green of the woodlands. It is a garden of many seasons so I know I will return at a different time of year.
It was a nice relaxing day, although the effects of the heat of the sun have left me feeling a little sleepy. But I do have an extra day off tomorrow
PS: On the way home I did a slight detour to get some mountain shots for my ‘100 hundred reasons to be glad’ project. That journey made me realise just how much I have missed visiting Wales in the past few years.
Sun? We mainly had cloud here. Sleep in tomorrow!
I have had a nice relaxing day which included taking lunch at a garden centre. I did have to slum it with a fruit scone though, because today there were no cherry ones!
Love it, CP! Brilliant!
Thanks Calum
Glad to hear you finally found time visit the garden. I found it very attractive being on so many levels. I bought a hardy fushia from the garden section there, which still thrives in my garden. I figured if it grew in North Wales it should be hardy here in the Chilterns. Love the photo; bet you took hundreds.
I think it will be added to my list of favourites and I will certainly be going back to see it in a different season. Hopefully when it is a little less crowded.
I took just over 100 photos, I was slacking LOL
Great shot again, CP. This blog never disappoints me.
Aww! Thanks MTG
Ooh it looks beautiful Cherie
Thanks Jams
Thanks, Cherrie, in a general way.
Reception?
Poor! Lessons learnt
I hope my reception isn’t poor…
It never is
I am not so sure myself.
Life’s complications have left me a little less in tune and receptive than I know I am capable of…
But I still do my best

The first link is very profound and the second link is lovely
Just as a matter of interest the email notification for the first link arrived just after something a little unusual had happened here!
I shall remain mysterious and enigmatic about my age
Coincidence is the mother of introspection.
Yes in can be but it can also have the opposite effect of encouraging someone to explore further
Have a good weekend, Cherrie.
Peace.

Great minds Cherie. I went visiting gardens at the weekend too. Those colours are fabulous.
I hope you have posted about them, I will be over to check later
Coincidence?! I am just drinking tea from a mug I bought once in Brecon (Aberhonddu). Written on it: If Wales were flattened out it would be bigger than England. …
I am not too sure what the English will have to say about that I do love those Welsh mountains though.
Anonymous,
Following on from the thread above
I hope you have a good weekend too. I am on the quest for a garden or two and maybe a stately home for good measure.
Whatever I find is likely to feature here (one way or another) in due course
