Weight Loss – Week ThreeThe title is a bit of a misnomer this week, the scales tell me I have put on 1.5lb although I am not quite sure where. Perhaps all that eating out is catching up with me… I am not to worried though and I have warned the scales to be on their best behaviour next week.

Oops! Wordpress had done that funny thing with the permalink on this post that stops people commenting!! Hopefully it is working properly now.

I’ve been eating well and exercising like crazy everyday and I’ve put on a kilo … but it’s a good kilo.

I am trying really hard but my weight is still fluctuating without any real downward trend :(
I have decided portion control is what I need.
I probably don’t need the same volume of food as my two strapping teenagers!

It is difficult to get started and even to keep motivated.

I don’t know if you do this already but some ways to help with the downward trend are:
      - Work out how many calories you are allowed a day
      - On average over the week stick to them
      - Write everything down everything that you eat/drink with the calorie total next to it
      - Look at the calorie and saturated fat content of different foods, some foods have very little so you can eat more of those to stop feeling hungry
      - some foods you only need a little of (portion control)
      - exercise can help you lose weight more quickly but only if you are sticking to your calorie intake

Firstly I wouldn’t worry about one and a half pounds. You must remember that –
“A pint of pure water weighs a pound and a quarter”. Now if you have had a couple of cups of tea and perhaps not had a “visit to the ladies” for a while – there is the unexpected increase. :(
I usually only weigh myself once a month as there are so many daily fluctuations including water retention during hot weather.
Perhaps I shouldn’t tell you but I am loosing lb’s like there is ‘no tomorrow’.
I am on a fish & vegetable diet with a ‘meat treat’ once a week. No bread, biscuits (except Ryvita) or cakes. Oh, yes and no potatoes. :(
I don’t weigh anything as there are few calories in fish, vegetables and fruit.
You have to be quite hard on yourself for three or four months – but it is worth it.
    Good luck.
PS Cheese is the worst for putting on weight. :(
Cheese is one of my favourite foods! :( & :(

I will only worry if the same thing happens again next week. Part of it may well be that I had changed into my winter clothes which weigh a bit heavier.

I don’t think I could go on your diet I am sure I would put the weight straight back on after I had finished, but it sounds like you are doing well :-)

Pastry and cream are also bad. I actually went off cream last time I went on a diet and am not fond of the taste any more. I don’t like the taste of fat in food either.

“Winter clothes” in August? Oh Cherry Pie it must be really cold up there in Shropshire?
Talking of Shropshire…..I was watching a video last night, of Traction Engines coming down a steep hill in Bishop’s Castle last September, (on YouTube). A Micklemas Event I believe? Is that anywhere near your abode?

The weather here is rather Octoberish!!!

Bishops Castle is about an hour away from me, so not on the doorstep but I consider it fairly local.
