I had another busy day in Birmingham yesterday. It started off with packed standing room only on the train because there were only two carriages rather than the usual four but at least it ran on time. Just after I got on a lady got up and insisted that I have her seat which was very kind of her
The meeting itself was a little chaotic because most of the staff from the regional office were off sick. The regional secretary was also off sick and the guest speaker was unable to attend.
The office staff who arrange the meetings were amongst those off sick. Surprisingly the meeting went without any serious hitches and the only thing that was missing was cups for the tea and coffee.
I was re-elected onto the regional committee which meant that I had to attend a small follow on meeting where duties were allocated to the newly elected committee members. After the meeting there was time for a bit of networking and catching up with friends.
I had to hang around in Birmingham a little bit longer than I intended because whilst I was sleeping my plans for my final bit of Christmas shopping had been rearranged for me and fast forwarded from the planned Friday or Saturday…
I finally got home at 9pm, but at least all the shopping is done now
This is a photo from last Christmas, there was too much rushing around for a photo yesterday. The centre was a lot busier than it is in this photo.
I hope it was a useful meeting. You and your colleagues have a hell of a lot of work on in the coming year. Good luck
Yes it was a useful meeting, thank you
There is a lot of work ahead and many people to convince.
Why would they have dropped it to two carriages? To make things more difficult for commuters?
They were unable to couple up the other two carriages due to an electrical fault so unfortunately they had to be left behind…
Didn’t we all have to guess where it was? ….and I got it wrong!
Still haven’t been back……there’s no ‘pull’ any more, if you follow me?
PS Iv’e posted up a few atmospheric photos yesterday, for your critical analysis!
Yes I did post up a different photo of this and asked people to guess where it was. You have a good memory
I shall be over a little bit later to check them out, I am sure they will be good
It’s that busy time of the year, Cherie, when it’s so easy to get sick. I think Astrid is coming down with a cold, but she’s working on stopping it in its tracks. Hopefully this weekend will be just what the doctor ordered for all of us. Take care.
Yes I am rather rushed off my feet at the moment. I hope Astrid manages to fight off that cold, a relaxing weekend should do the trick
It sounds like a crazy day, I hope it has calmed down a little since. I hate standing on that train, it makes for a long journey! Interesting times for the PCS!
Things have calmed down a little today, thank goodness
The journey is a pain when you have to stand up.
