Some time ago Jane from Midwest to Midlands awarded me with the Versatile Blogger award.

The Versatile Rules.

  • mention the person who gave it to you
  • pass it on to 15 other bloggers
  • list 7 things about yourself

I have already mentioned Jane, if you haven’t visited her blog I thoroughly recommended that you do, she takes her readers on some interesting journeys.

All the blogs in my sidebar and my commenters are all worthy of this reward, so I will leave it at that.

Now onto the 7 things about me…

  1. When I was a child, I had a severe case of the measles which permanently affected my eyesight.  I also have no sense of smell.
  2. When I was a few years old, in the early evening during the summer months my Dad always walked me round the garden and told me the names of all the flowers.  I can remember him accidentally missing with the watering can on occasions and watering me instead.  I think this is why I have a love of gardens and flowers.
  3. Once, I got my hand stuck in the mechanism of a playground ride.  It was a swinging plank that was hung between large frames at either end.  As I was trying to climb off, my hand slid into the swinging mechanism and I had to wait for it to swing all the way through the cycle before I could get my hand out.  I still have the scar today.
  4. My favourite subjects at school were music and biology. I would have preferred to study botany, but that wasn’t on the curriculum because it was too difficult (well that is what we were told).
  5. My Mum and I often used to buy the same clothes, although we never shopped together or saw what we each had bought beforehand.
  6. I have eaten bear meat.
  7. I am told that I have an unusually analytical mind for a lady.

    … and rain?

    • CherryPie says:

I love the after effects of rain, the vibrant colours. I love to be sitting inside with I nice cup of tea, cosy and warm watching the rain fall down my windows.

But I hate to be caught out in the rain and the floods that the insessant downpours cause…

Hi Cherie, Interesting reading and learning more about you. I hope you ate the bear meat on purpose:) My husband has no sense of smell either. Thanks for the kind words and you are always informative and yes I think you probably do have an analytical, but interesting mind, and blog too!

I am glad you enjoyed the little bits about me. It is interesting that your husband has no sense of smell too. Everyone finds it strange when I tell them I have no sense of smell.

Thank you for your kind comments :-)

“I am told that I have an unusually analytical mind for a lady”

Who says that it is unusual for a lady to have an analytical mind? Perhaps someone who has not analysed ladies properly?

    • CherryPie says:

I think the comment meant analytical in areas that ladies usually aren’t…

I will ask tomorrow and let you know ;-)

      • CherryPie says:

I asked the question and the answer is:

Lots of ladies are analytical but it is the type of things I analyse that are unusual for a lady for example when playing board games I come up with adaptable strategies and often beat the seasoned gamers. Also the way I research the options for holidays or for example buying camera equipment.

  6. Andrew says:

Hmm… sounds a bit like a man carefully trying to extricate himself from danger there. I suggest you confront him with, ‘So are you are saying I am manly and not feminine?’ :)

  7. Andrew says:

Unless the comment came from a lady, of course.
