Very nice. It looks like a folly but I am sure it wasn’t
It is one of the buildings of mystery in Rennes-le-Chateau. I can’t find too much information on the tower itself which is why I didn’t add any with the photo.
Very beautiful!
Thanks Victoria
Undoubtedly, it was erected to inspire a following generation to build a path and make money of past genius.
The mountain views were free and so was the church. I didn’t go in the museum which the tower is part of
It’s lovely.
Glad you like it
This is what I call, a nice tower. As a kid I would draw castles and they all looked like that. This has a beautiful architecture. I think, you did not know where to start looking, in a lot of places you visited.
You are right, there is so much more I wanted to see here. I could have spent all day there The architecture was interesting and so were the windows and sculptures within the church. And there were those amazing views over the Aude Valley
What a stupendous piece of architecture – those battlements!
It is a curiosity
What a glorious specimen. No doubt by the looks of the contours, this may the only photographic angle but it is a really good one at that.
There is another angle for a perfect view, although effect is different
