Steady and stable.
A friend
Would love to have a big oak tree in my back garden.
It is a magnificent tree
You must have a lot of leaves to clear..
Interestingly there aren’t very many in my garden this year. You have made me wonder where they went???
Lovely (was “too short”)
Monitoring recent comments I think WordPress likes two or more… You could try a one word comment with a smiley, grumpy or any other emoticon
Really?
Not so much “likes” as demands. I tried getting round it with spaces and carriage returns, but it wasn’t having that. Do you think two one letter words would work? Although are there only two one letter words, namely A and I? I am about to experiment to try to slip the shortest possible comment in. Please tolerate me if nonsense comments appear (more nonsense than usual. Will try for S and s, which as we now know mean two very different things (Cherie knows what I’m on about)
Sc sc s s s
Can anyone get anything shorter than that last one through?
Does anyone care?
Goodnight
Lol Lol
Wordpress is so jolly it deems three smileys to be insufficient, but 4 is just enough. I go to sleep happy with the results of my investigations using the scientific method, but as a man of no faith I remain open to the possibility that my findings may be proved wrong
Lol Lol
Oi oi oi oi
Oh… It seems I may have found the squeezing limit already. Another first, another paper, another prize:)
Oh! We need adjudication. Is a smiley and two Lol’s as offered by Sean shorter or longer than 4 smileys? I say my 4 smileys are shorter, but in the unbiased spirit of an enquiring mind.
Eight signs each., thus a fair draw.
However, as I only tied your record, the man with the Helmet of Perthino is the one to be found in the history books.
Bowing with respect.
May the peace of the night be upon you all.
As each reply gets allocated a narrower and narrower space, I feel the next hugely funded bit of scientific enquiry is to keep replying and see what Wordpress does when it cannot squeeze the replies any further…
Good Night and sweet dreams my gallant Knights
I think if we look at the comment that was made at 11.05 that confirms my suspicions on what Wordpress likes (Ooops!! sorry – Wordpress DEMANDS).
As to the various Sc sc S s etc. I was mightily confused by that at the other place!!!
I think I made Wordpress have a nervous breakdown by continuing investigations into the squeezing reply limit, which I think I found, but it put my triumphant results a few comments higher than the one I was trying to reply too.
My work here is done!
(Thanks goodness, thinks Cherie…)
eh “to” not “too”
I think the answer to Don at 11.47 is. Random stream of characters – space – random stream of characters. WordPress sees that as two words
“Random stream of characters – space – random stream of characters”, Cherie?
Some people would call that a blog post
Sounds like one of mine
Ha, there you do already have your answer, Don QuiScottie. They would not let Seanso Pansa reply.
It tried that with me Sean but I persisted and it eventually accepted the comment but put it higher up but squeezed to the same extent. So it squeezes no further and if forced to throws the comment in at the wrong place in a fit of pique, no doubt. This all may take a codebreaker to decipher if it continues.
I do ‘know’ the answer to how many comments WordPress allows in a threaded comment. As the comments get more and more squeezed down the line (and ultimately will be unreadable), I guess on this occasion it knows best
Nice Oak tree blue sky and moon though…
I hasten to echo that.
Nature We all love and appreciate it
Love this! Sorry I missed the fun.
Thank you I think the length of the comment problem has been thoroughly explored and sorted out now
? … ?
? ?
By what fiendish devilment and witchery are you managing to get these through? It is still not allowing me to do so.
