    Love that staircase.

  5. Don’t you think NT and EH should merge together so we can visit more interesting places like this by using one card? ;p

I remember visiting this house a few years ago, and being struck by how similar the carved heads on the staircase were to those on the pulpit on a Shropshire Church I had just visited. I mentioned this to one of the guides, but she was quite dismissive

Do you remember which Church it was? If it is one I know, I might be able to find something out about it.

It was Much Wenlock, Cherie – I have one or two pictures of the heads, but not the entire pulpit. Any information you could dig up would be very welcome, thank you, Cherie

It is several years since I have been in the church although I visit the town and the Abbey frequently. I will try and go inside the church next time I visit, if it is open.

Lavish staircase & fireplace. I imagine that the owners would have entertained & impressed many friends here.
