Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

      Conditions do apply ;-)

With regards to the accompanying photo I went out yesterday afternoon with a view to capturing just the right tree to go with the wider context of the passage that this quote comes from.

I had a feeling that I would find what I wanted in this place :-)

praying is a good thing Cherie… i always expect to get what i prayed for… it’s just that some of them take a bit longer:)

This is one of those passages to ponder, Cherry, because we all know there’s more to it than meets the eye. For me, having a positive, upbeat attitude and “believeing all things” helps. HA! Sometimes we can be very thankful when some of our prayers are NOT answered. Like I said….more than meets the eye!

God said the same to both of us.

  5. I don’t really believe in praying. ;)
Just a mind game to me.

erm…. nice thought. What happens when I don’t desire more/ other things, that I am happy with what I have and don’t wish for more…..
I have dreams, but that is something different…. everybody needs dreams.
Totally changing the topic, the picture top right is that your house and your patio…? Now that would be a dream for me to be able to be outside like that :) :) :)
    Have a great day today.

If nothing is desired I think prayers can be saved for another day :-)

I would love that to be my house and patio. It is Chartwell House the former home of Winston Churchill an it is rather homely :-)

    Nice meaningful thought.
I believe in the power of prayer and although not taken out of context, this verse is tempered with what is said elsewhere of “… not everything is beneficial …”. Prayers are answered to make us nearer the finished article rather than the purposes of perfect health or even material gain.
Recently I have been understanding that we have to think about others first and their needs rather than ourselves.
A friend has recently lost her Father last week and she feels Gods presence and support from others with strength and comfort as a result of peoples prayers.

    • CherryPie says:

‘not everything is beneficial’ I have also heard that expressed as be careful what you wish for.

Yes we should put the needs of others before our own but that is the hard part.

I am sorry to hear about your friend’s loss.
