Sounds so so lovely.
As someone having a garden and a library I can assure you, though: It’s wrong.
As long as we have our basic needs I don’t consider it wrong
Quite. However, even when considering Cicero missed to be perfect by but an inch, this inch according to the Scottish proverb is as good as a span.
Ah but did he miss it
For me he did.
You can be sure, though, that I consider it a lovely thought.
Lovely like Rosenbach’s “After love, book collecting is the most exhilerating sport of all”. : )
…except a brewery and winery…oh, but the library will have books on using the garden for that. OK. I am convinced.
And maybe on food cultivativation etc…
But there again our basic instincts would help us with that.
Sean, you make me reconsider… (with a comment that seemed to arrive almost simultaneously with mine but not quite, obviously, the same minute having 60 different seconds in it).
Ha ha, Andrew. Cheers. Perhaps I should post a Belhaven Black, tonight, so that your Daracha feels not so lonely.
A lovely Thought. .I don’t have a home let alone a garden. But doing ok. X
I am glad you are doing OK and I hope that you are able to get a home for yourself soon xx Sending you love and *hugs*
i think i agree with that statement on most days, CP
I love gardens and books so it is a perfect quote for me
I think Cicero was saying that if he had a library and a garden then HE is doing OK! I agree with him but it’s one of those things you might change everyday.

I have had a lifelong love of books and gardens, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like other things as well
